2025-10-26 Freedom of Information

From governments banning websites to people stealing from libraries and burning the books. Has the world gone mad? Throughout history, not a single good person burned books.

Burning books - Wikipedia

Information is important. We use information to learn. Without the freedom of information we shall fall as a society. Note when I say freedom of information, I mean free as in freedom, not free as in beer. Don't get me wrong, free information is excellent, but having the legal right to learn is one of the most important values we need to keep hold of.

Without learning from history and covering it up. History will repeat itself.

The government is banning books. Libraries are being told to remove books from their catalogues. Amazon is editing ebooks that you have paid for. Publishers are editing books to make them politically correct, in order not to offend people. Who are these actions designed to protect?

Editing the past is re-writing history. What has happened, has happened. Let us NEVER forget.

How can we fight back? How can we stand up for our rights?

Libraries are an excellent resource, and we need to keep them running. The best way to stop our Libraries from closing down, is to use them. Seriously! If you don't use them, the government will deem them unnecessary and obsolete. They will be closed down to save money. Write to your local MP or head of state. Tell them how valuable you Library is. When they're gone, they're gone.
